A Blog of a very ordinary ‘bloke’!
My name is Nelu Balaj and I am a Christian. I live in Scotland and I belong to the Church of Scotland (where I am a minister of Livingston Old Parish Church). Until May 2009 I worked for the Action of Churches Together in Scotland, and for those who are looking for a faith ‘testimonial’: I see myself as an ecumenist and a ‘progressive’ Christian. Previously I have been a very active member (for over 20 years, or since 1983) of the Romanian Baptist Church. Among other qualifications I hold a Doctor of Theology degree in Missiology from the University of Birmingham, UK.
I spent a few years in Malawi, working for Livingstonia Synod of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian.
You will see that my interests are quite broad (ranging from: mission, practical theology, political theology, hermeneutics etc.), but I have to be honest, I like a little bit of controversy!
I use this blog as a kind of ‘book mark’, where I can ‘hang up’ some of those ‘things’ that I come across and catch my attention, which I find ‘interesting’ (a very subjective term though). Therefore expect only sporadic reflections on items posted.
A little note of caution here: ‘The items posted here do not necessary reflect the view of the blog owner’. So you have been warn, if you think you can put me in a box, well, think again!
Disclaimer: the views expressed in this blog are of the authors, unless specified, and these views are not necessarily representative of the organisations I work for or I am associated with.

Good for you! Keep going, it is good to know that there are some strong people going into ministry!
Thanks Stewart.

You’re welcome. Will do, but not much business down south for me just now.
Here’s hoping you’re not too ordinary as a Minister. Jen Muir, St Vigeans.
It also depends of the parishioners!
